[Plotter Processing Example] Large Diameter PTFE Gasket

Processing example of Naflon PTFE low creep gasket blended with silica!

We would like to introduce a case where we manufactured a JIS pipe flange gasket (nominal diameter 2K-650A) in RF (Raised Face) shape from Naflon PTFE low creep gasket "TOMBO No.9007-LC" (thickness 3mm) based on the customer's specifications. Using our plotter processing, we precisely processed it directly from CAD data. Although it was a single request for a large diameter, we were able to deliver it quickly with a beautiful finish without burrs, as no die was needed. 【Features of Plotter Processing】 ■ Cost reduction without the need for a die ■ Supports small lot production from one piece ■ Beautiful finish without burrs ■ Easy repeat orders with data storage *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Glass-filled PTFE

It can be used at high temperatures and has improved wear resistance! It can be used as an electrical insulating material.

"Glass-filled PTFE" is a standard PTFE gasket that contains glass fiber as a filler material. Compared to regular PTFE, it can be used at high temperatures. It can improve wear resistance while maintaining a low friction coefficient. Additionally, it can be used as an electrical insulating material. 【Features】 ■ Contains glass fiber as a filler material ■ Can be used at high temperatures compared to regular PTFE ■ Improves wear resistance while maintaining a low friction coefficient ■ Usable as an electrical insulating material *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Characteristics and Precautions of TOMBO No.9096-SGM [In-Depth Explanation]

Balancing "high strength" and "flexibility"! Based on specific numerical information, we will also introduce the performance of SGM gaskets.

Pure fluoropolymer (PTFE) gaskets are widely used in many chemical lines due to their excellent chemical resistance. However, conventional PTFE sheets have a significant challenge: they are prone to "creep (stress relaxation)" and lack long-term sealing stability. To overcome this weakness, Nichias Corporation has developed the "TOMBO No.9096-SGM" (SGM gasket) using special manufacturing technology. This article thoroughly explains the performance of this "high-strength stretched PTFE gasket," which overturns the conventional wisdom of PTFE, as well as important considerations to maximize its capabilities. We aim to assist field engineers and maintenance personnel in solving sealing challenges under more severe conditions. *For detailed content of the column, please refer to the related links.
